Our Curriculum

Our program provides a climate for physical growth and intellectual stimulation. We will use the exciting new version of the proven curriculum to develop each child's language arts, math, and reading skills.

Our students have the chance to explore a wide variety of activities through our extended programs to fit what each student wants to know and wants to learn, such as music programs, group activities, field trips, art projects, science, reading, and social studies studies, and multicultural education, and much more - each program consisting of an educational emphasis.

Overview of the program included in our curriculum is as follows:

* Reading: 

Becoming familiar with books and print. earning the ABC's, writing his/her name, developing good listening habits, and classifying object and pictures as a part of child's preparation for reading

*Mathematics:

Matching, comparing orders, grouping, counting, recognizing and writing numbers, weights, and shapes. All previously stated will be covered in our pre-mathematics program as some of our math concepts.

*Art:

Craft work, painting, hand-prints, making collages and storybooks, learning and singing educational songs, etc.

*Physical Development:

Offering a variety of games, relays, and body movement activties to music.

*Social Studies:

Sharing, playing together, helping one another, working together, learning etiquette and learning to accept each other's differences. All of these stated will be emphasied as some of the aspect of our program

7:00-8:30 AM          Arrival / Welcome to school
8:30-9:00 AM          Breakfast Time
9:00-9:15 AM          Circle Time (songs and small activities)
9:15-9:30 AM          Story Time
9:30-10:30 AM        Class Studies Time (children go into their assigned classrooms)
10:30-10:45 AM      Indoor activity (stretching, exercising, getting a break from their studies)
10:45-11:30 AM      Class Activity Time (activities with their class)
11:30-12:15 PM      Lunch Time
12:15-12:45 PM      Outdoor Play
12:45-1:00 PM        Clean-up Time and Get ready for nap

2-5 Year Olds
1:00-3:00 PM          Nap Time
3:00-3:10 PM          Wake-up Time
3:10-3:30 PM          Snack Time
3:30-4:10 PM          Outdoor Play
4:10-5:00 PM          Class Activitiy Time
5:00-6:00 PM          Free Time and Get ready to go home

Afterschool Children
2:30-3:00 PM          Arrival at school and have snack
3:00-3:50 PM          Do homework (from Kindergarten or Elementary School)
3:50-4:00 PM          Recess
4:00-4:30 PM          Extra schoolwork
4:30-5:00 PM          Outdoor Play
5:00-6:00 PM          Free Time and Get ready to go home

 

Nutrition Policy

We offer meals 2x during school hours - breakfast and lunch, in addition to snacks 2x as well.

All of our meals and snacks are planned to meet the child's nutritional needs and the lunch menu will be posted on the bulletin board on a monthly basis. Parents can supply food substitutions if their child cannot eat the foods that are served on a given day.

Field Trip Policy

Parents will be informed of field trips in advance through letters and permission forms that are to be sent back to school with a parent's signature for each trip.
